Muskie softball season ends with split

The Muskie softball team saw their season come to end with a split in their twin bill against Baldwin Wallace. The Muskies won game one 8-2 and lost game two 3-2.

The Muskies needed two wins and a split between Marietta and John Carroll to get into the OAC tournament. The Muskies unfortunately got neither on Sunday.

In game one the Muskies saw an outstanding pitching performance from Sarah Browning who went six innings, only giving up six hits and one earned. The Muskie offense received a charge from Alyxis Moore and Laina Walker who both homered in game one. Moore went 4-4 with three rbi’s while Walker went 1-4 with two rbi’s.

In game two the Muskies were unable to catch up to the stellar pitching of Samantha Dostall who only allowed two earned in the complete game. The Muskies would leave ten runners stranded in the contest which included two in the bottom of the seventh with two outs. Alyxis Moore struck out swinging for the final out of the season for the Muskies.

The Muskies (23-17, 10-8) end the 2015 campaign in fifth place in the conference.
