The Muskingum University Football Team lost their home opener on Sept. 17 falling to Capital 34-16. The Muskies finished the game with 373 total offensive yards, but were unable to take care of the ball.
Capital ended the game with a total of three takeaways, two fumble recoveries and an interception.
First-year, Derek Granstaff, saw his first action of the year replacing Griffin Degener in the fourth quarter. Granstaff was able to drive down the field and complete a 10-yard touchdown pass to Granger Long. Degener also had a touchdown with a 45-yard toss to Damon Jones.
Senior Linebacker, Chaney Fulton, left the game late with an injury to his left ankle region and did not return. Fulton had 10 tackles before leaving the contest.
The Muskies will be back to defend their home turf Sept. 24 when they take on Marietta.
