The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office has no new information to release about the baby found dead at Muskingum University over two months ago.

Sheriff Matt Lutz says he never wants to release information until formal charges are filed. Lutz also says he and the Muskingum County Prosecutor cannot release information that could be introduced into evidence at a trial.

“We had a long list of things to follow up on, as well as waiting on some evidence results which have taken some time to receive,” says Lutz. “The prosecutor wanted more information before making a decision on this case.”

According to Muskingum County Coroner Charles Feicht, the baby found outside the Delta Gamma Theta sorority house on campus was born alive before being tightly knotted in a trash bag. The baby girl suffocated to death and was found around 9 p.m. on April 22.
