Muskie Softball Dominates in Doubleheader

The Muskies coasted through a non-conference doubleheader with Washington & Jefferson Thursday winning game one 7-3 and game two in six innings, 9-1.

The Muskies saw stellar pitching performances from their two top pitchers Sarah Browning and Kristin Gill. Browning, who started game one, pitched a complete game allowing just three runs on three hits with six strikeouts. Gill in game two, pitched a complete game allowing just one run on eight hits with four punch-outs.

The offense between the two games was led by Kelly Martin who went 4-8 with a double and a triple. Amy Clark and Laina Walker tacked on three rbi’s in game two to head the Muskie charge.

The Muskies (22-16, 9-7) will play a doubleheader against Baldwin Wallace on Saturday searching for a tournament berth needing to win both and get some help from Marietta to reach fourth place. Pregame for game one can be heard on 90.7FM starting at 12:30 p.m.
