The Muskingum Active Minds chapter meets every Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. in Caldwell 370. The group discusses and promotes mental health for Muskingum students. Contact Dr. Shawn Starcher for more information.


Guernsey-Muskingum Electric Cooperative in New Concord is hosting their annual member meeting on Saturday, April 13. The meeting is for co-op members to hear updates from Guernsey-Muskingum leaders and elect new members to the Board of Directors. The meeting begins at 8:30 a.m. with breakfast at the Larry W. Miller Intermediate School on John Glenn Road.


The New Concord Fire Department is offering free smoke detector installation for local residents. The program is open to any New Concord resident and those living in Union, Westland, Rich Hill, Adams, and Highland townships. The program requires fire department personnel to install the smoke detectors to ensure they are in proper working order. Residents will receive three detectors through the program. The New Concord Food Pantry at College Drive Presbyterian Church is available the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month. The church is located at West High Street in New Concord.

Second Wednesday of each month: produce give away noon-2:30 p.m. The food pantry is open from  noon-3:30 p.m. Fourth Wednesday of each month: food pantry open from 3:30-5:30 p.m.

New Concord Village Council meetings are held the second Monday of every month at 6:30 p.m. at Village Hall on Main Street. Listen to monthly meetings live on WMCO 90.7. Meetings reair Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays at noon and 10 p.m. Meeting dates for 2024: April 9 (date change), May 13, June 10, July 8, Aug. 12, Sept. 9, Oct. 21, Nov. 18, Dec. 9.
