WMCO Debuts New Tower Site

WMCO’s signal now orbits from a new site! WMCO’s transmitter and tower facilities are now located on the north end of campus behind Physical Plant. Moving from the original location of WMCO at Cambridge Hall, the new site increases the height of the new tower, and therefore sends the signal to our coverage area better than ever. The new tower is 60 feet higher than the original tower. Construction began in late July and WMCO officially transferred the signal at 5:35 p.m.

Thank you to Muskingum University, Physical Plant, and Computer & Network Services for their generous help with this project!

Student staff members, Director of Broadcasting Jeff Harman, and Broadcast Engineer Mark Bohach stand in front of the new tower site on September 25, 2013. More photos available on our Facebook page. More information about the upgrade project is available on the Sept. 4 edition of The Muskie Daily http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SN8d8fRprXc
