Many American Electric Power customers in the New Concord area were without service early Tuesday morning. In a statement from AEP Ohio to Orbit Media on Aug. 24, about 1,400 customers lost power from 12-3:30 a.m. after an equipment issue affected a high-voltage power line feeding power to the area.

The outage also involved Muskingum University. While crews were working to determine the cause, customers were switched to an alternate power-source.

Repairs were completed Tuesday afternoon.
