Christmas Parade Takes Over Main Street

The New Concord Board of Trade celebrated the beginning of another holiday season with their annual Christmas Parade Monday, Nov. 27.

Retired Muskingum University Professor Jeff Harman served as the Parade’s announcer for the crowd gathered on Main Street in front of New Concord Village Hall.

Among all the entries, a few familiar faces such as Muskingum University President Susan S. Hasseler, New Concord Mayor Brett Essex, and Grand Marshal Roger Bates were featured during the night.

Groups of all ages came out to march including groups from the university such as Muskingum Cheerleaders, Muskingum Students with Hasseler, Muskie athletics, and sorority Chi Alpha Nu

East Muskingum School District was represented by the John Glenn High School Marching Band, the cheer and dance team, the football players, and East Muskingum Middle School Cheerleaders.

Businesses and organizations such as churches and Boy Scouts of America groups also supported the annual Board of Trade Parade by submitting entries.
