Senior Muskingum Golfer Brenton Franks has been named Ohio Athletic Conference Men’s Golfer of the Week.
Senior Muskingum Golfer Brenton Franks is the OAC Men’s Golfer of the Week. Franks had three top-10 finishes and led Muskingum to its first team win since 2003 at the Muskingum Spring Invitational.
Franks earned medalist honors in a 35-golfer field at the Muskingum Spring Invitational at the Zanesville Country Club on Monday. He scored a 72 to lead Muskingum to its first team win since 2003. Franks had the event’s lone eagle and three birdies.
Last Saturday, he tied for seventh out of a 37-golfer field in Muskingum’s season opener, shooting a 76 at the Pioneer Classic at Lakeside Golf Course.
Franks placed second in a 38-golfer field at the Pioneer Classic held at River Greens Golf Course on March 21, shooting a 75. He finished the weekend with three top-10 finishes for Muskingum and an average score of 74.3.
The Muskies next compete Friday, April 2 at the Ohio Northern Invitational.
