Schuck has used his knowledge and experiences to help educate and give back to colleges, especially Seton Hall University where he first started in college radio.

“If you are interested in this business or anything else just to kind of, get your name out there, networking is so important, writing very, very important in terms of your skill. It’s really a good craft to have,” said Schuck.

Any college student looking to have a career in radio and to follow along a similar path that Schuck took can listen to Schuck educate about the standards they have at 1010 WINS.

“We are very strict about being unbiased in our reporting. I get a lot of pride out of that and telling the way I see it and not letting my personal emotions get involved or bias,” said Schuck.

Facts are an important part of accurate reporting. Schuck has reported on many different types of stories ranging from more entertainment stories like the Yankees baseball games to more serious topics like the COVID-19 pandemic and 9/11.

“This is a very rewarding industry…but it can be stressful,” said Schuck.

Schuck was the first radio reporter to be on site the day after 9/11. Out of the few reporters who were live on the scene, Schuck was responsible for providing accurate and timely reports. Schuck was tasked to relay the facts about that day to Americans without any of his own personal emotions.

Glenn Schuck is a reporter/anchor for 1010 WINS in New York City. The station added a FM signal, 92.3, on Oct. 27.

“…there are a lot of difficult stories to tell…we are human, right, that can be difficult, but I really take a lot of pride in being the person that is telling people the stories and they rely on us,” said Schuck.

Schuck’s connection with the community extends beyond reporting. Schuck has helped with community work and fundraising to help those who were affected by 9/11 and their families. In all stories Schuck has reported on, people rely on Schuck based on his objective reporting.

Schuck plans to continue his path as a reporter/anchor at 1010 WINS and to educate people about the radio industry and his experiences.
