Muskingum University Football Head Coach Erik Ieuter remains confident in his team following their 49-10 Homecoming loss against #25 Baldwin Wallace in week seven.

“We still feel like we have a really good team… The thing I was proud of most was how hard our guys continued to compete and stuck together,” said Ieuter.

One player who stood out in the game against Baldwin Wallace was senior defensive back Brian Brown. Brown had a career-high 14 stops.

“Brian has done an outstanding job his entire career and he’s really stepped up his game in a leadership role and really taken charge on defense,” said Ieuter.

When looking forward to the game this weekend, Ieuter said defensively he wants to make sure they are applying pressure to the quarterback.

“Most quarterbacks aren’t good under pressure, so we definitely want to get some pressure on their quarterback,” Coach Ieuter said.

As for Muskingum offensively, Ieuter believes two things need to improve.

“We need to be more physical and more consistent, and that’s what it comes down to. Physicality and consistency up front,” said Ieuter.

The Muskies travel to Westerville Saturday, Oct. 23 as they take on the Otterbein Cardinals.

WMCO is on the call with live coverage starting at 1:45 p.m. with Brittnee Edgar and Darrell Ponder. Listen to the Muskingum Football team live on WMCO’s Muskie Sports Blast Monday nights at 8 p.m.
