Muskingum Board Chairman to Retire

Muskingum University Board of Trustees Chairman Harold W. Burlingame ’62 is retiring as chair of the board at the conclusion of the 2018-2019 academic year.

Burlingame, a trustee since 1985, has served as board chair for 25 years.

Muskingum University President Susan S. Hasseler invited Burlingame to guest conduct of a piece titled “His Honor” (Henry Fillmore, ed. Frederick Fennell) during the Muskingum Jazz Ensemble and Wind Ensemble concert Friday evening, April 12, in Brown Chapel.

Burlingame is a 1962 Muskingum University graduate. As a student, he founded WMCO, the campus radio station, in 1961.

During his 40 years working at AT&T, Burlingame served as executive vice president of human resources and senior executive advisor for AT&T Wireless. He has received numerous awards for the innovative human resources programs he created during the transformation from Bell Telephone System to AT&T.

Burlingame currently serves as board chairman and president of the Innovation Resource Center for Human Resources. He will continue to serve as a Muskingum University Board Trustee after his retirement.
