Cambridge native Adam Calvert visits WMCO

Cambridge native singer/songwriter Adam Calvert visited WMCO’s studio in August. WMCO Program Director Brice Lillibridge interviewed Calvert during his live weekly radio show Thursday, Aug. 27.

Calvert has opened for artists including Parmalee, Canaan Smith, Phil Vassar, Martina McBride, Marty Haggard, James Otto, B.J. Thomas, and Marty Stuart.

Calvert began singing at five years old. Calvert moved to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee as a young teen where he made his start as an entertainer. He plays several instruments including the guitar, piano, and the violin.

Calvert enjoys touring around the country performing at fairs and festivals. Calvert’s single, “Sun-Kissed Summertime,” reached #1 on WMCO’s charts. During his New Concord visit, Calvert performed a live concert at Wally’s Pizza.

Calvert credits Garth Brooks, George Strait, Allen Stone, and John Legend as musical influences. He listens to to all genres of music.

Muskingum Athletics Partners with Genesis

The Muskingum Athletic Department has agreed to a sports medicine partnership with Genesis HealthCare System.

As part of the multi-year deal, Genesis HealthCare System will provide Muskingum student-athletes with access to complete healthcare services and qualified professionals. All Muskie athletes will receive care from experienced orthopedic physicians, practitioners, and other specialists.

Vice President and Athletic Director of Muskingum University Steve Brockelbank is pleased to work with Genesis HealthCare System to help student-athletes maintain their health and improve their athletic performance.

“We are thrilled to welcome Genesis HealthCare System as our new sports medicine partner. This partnership will provide our Muskie student-athletes with outstanding medical care and enhance the quality of the services that we are able to provide for them,” said Brockelbank.

Genesis HealthCare System feels gratified to be able to offer services to student-athletes at Muskingum.

“We are pleased to partner with Muskingum University to provide high-quality orthopedic and sports medicine services to student-athletes. We are committed to the health and well-being of everyone in our community. This partnership enables us to extend our care to student-athletes,” said Matthew Perry, President and CEO of Genesis Healthcare System.

Genesis HealthCare System is a healthcare delivery system based in southeast Ohio. The system includes Genesis Hospital, a nonprofit hospital in Zanesville.
