The New Concord Police Department is hosting a yard sale to benefit K-9 Officer Norco. The yard sale is Saturday, June 27 from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. in Village Park, beside Village Hall on Main Street

New Concord Police Chief Mindy Peck came up with the idea for the fundraiser.

“I was driving around, and I don’t know why it hit me, I said ‘why don’t we have a yard sale?’ People can donate their unwanted stuff and then the proceeds can go to the K-9 fund. So, I thought, well, we’ll try it,” said Peck.

The department is taking donations for the event through June 26 and all good condition items are welcome.

“We’ve got a lot of donations, hopefully the sale will go well. We don’t want stuff that’s broken. But we’ve got everything. We’ve got clothes, hunting items, printers, game systems, decorations, you name it, we’ve got it,” said Peck.

New Concord Police Officer Jeff Traub is working with Norco, New Concord’s K-9 officer. Norco completed training at Merry K9 Services in Zanesville.

All proceeds from the event will go to the K-9 Norco fund. Norco was sworn in on Nov. 22, 2019. Norco assists with narcotics stops and is partnered with Officer Jeff Traub.

To donate, call Village Hall at (740) 826-7671. Visitors can drop-off donations at Village Hall Monday thru Friday between 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
