Among those in attendance were New Concord Village Council members, Muskingum University President Susan S. Hasseler, East Muskingum Local Schools Superintendent Dave Adams, and New Concord Mayor Jennifer Lyle.

“So excited after all this time, it’s just been a wonderful process all the way through to have it finally come to fruition. I couldn’t be happier and I’m especially happy to see so many people here from the community,” said Lyle.

Many residents in and around New Concord shared similar sentiments, while enjoying their complimentary drinks and waiting to see if they won the raffle.

“I love the idea of being so close to home and convenient, easy to get to eat through the drive-thru. Heck yeah, it’s a win-win,” said Becky Wolkman. “I’m like seven minutes away, I’ll be here often.”

During the ribbon cutting ceremony, Sheetz donated $2,500 to Special Olympics Ohio and to the Mid-Ohio Food Collective adding up to $5,000 donated.

“Sheetz is a really wonderful family company and I think that’s such a beautiful fit for the Village of New Concord because we are such a family-friendly community and I think this is going to be the start of a pretty wonderful thing for all of us,” said Lyle.

The store includes seven lanes that offer high flow diesel fuel and Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) for semi-trucks, and 14 fuel terminals for other vehicles. The store will also feature 29 free parking spaces, available for overnight parking to truckers.
