#25 Lady Muskies off to 6-0 start

The Muskingum University Volleyball team is off to a 6-0 to start the season after knocking off #22 Ohio Northern on Friday, March 19. They won game one, 3-1, and game two, 3-0.

Senior outside hitter Maddie McGee had 13 kills and five service aces. Senior outside hitter Brooke Fatheree added 11 kills and a team-best 21 digs, and freshman outside hitter Khloe Taylor was third in line with 10 kills. 

Muskingum has lost three out of 21 sets this season and has totaled 287 kills, 428 digs, and 258 assists as a team. 

Muskingum Volleyball is ranked #25 in Division III in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25 Poll released last week.

Senior outside hitter Maddie McGee is the reigning Ohio Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week. McGee tallied 13 kills and five service aces against #22 Ohio Northern on Friday.

McGee earned Ohio Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for her 35 kill, 12 dig day against John Carroll to lead the Lady Muskies to two four-set victories on Friday, March 12. She leads the team with 68 kills, averaging 3.58 kills per set, and has a .313 hitting percentage this season. 

Senior setter Erin Dickson has distributed a team-high 103 assists and averages 5.72 assists per set. Fatheree has a team-high 93 digs, averaging 4.65 digs per set, and is third on the team with 50 kills.

Sophomore middle hitter Emma Dunham sits right behind McGee in kills with 51 and leads the team defensively with 23 total blocks. Sophomore setter and outside hitter Emma Conrad is second on the team in assists with 102, averaging 5.10 assists per set, and sophomore defensive specialist Gracie Collins has 70 digs on the year, which is second for the Lady Muskies.

Muskingum will play the Lady Purple Raiders at Mount Union on Tuesday, March 23, at 6 and 8 p.m.

WMCO’s next scheduled broadcast of Muskingum Volleyball is Friday, March 26, as the Lady Muskies host the Baldwin Wallace Lady Yellow Jackets. Pregame will begin at 5:45 p.m., with game time set for 6 p.m.
