WMCO Artist Spotlight | Panic! At the Disco

I knew it was a matter of time before Panic! crept to the top of the WMCO charts. We placed “Dying in LA” into rotation and into the studio in early November.

It’s not Panic’s most well known song or even a fan favorite. It’s a piano ballad that does a 180 from “LA Devotee”, which came out on the double platinum album Death of a Bachelor.

“Dying in LA” tells the story of someone whom moved to Los Angeles with high hopes (sorry I had to do one bad pun) and fell empty.

In an interview with The Independent, Panic’s front-man Brendon Urie said “It has given me the most opportunities I’ve ever had, and has amazing networks and people to hang out with, and great weather, but also the worst people: selfish, out to get you….”

Panic! At The Disco is currently not touring after spending the better part of 2018 on tour while playing songs from Pray for the Wicked which was released in the summer of 2018. Recently, they released a cover of “Into the Unknown” which is a song from Disney’s Frozen 2. I’ll link it below.

Panic! will be rotation until the end of the year. Tune into Something Old, Something New with Music Librarian David McDonald and myself as we discuss more new music, and in this case, some old music. The show airs Tuesday and Fridays at 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.
