WMCO proudly celebrates World College Radio Day Friday, Oct. 2.

In its 10th year, the mission of World College Radio Day is to bring together the combined listenership of thousands of college radio listeners around the world. The event celebrates the important contribution of college radio by stations and listeners uniting for one day.

WMCO has participated in College Radio Day since year one. This year’s broadcast schedule includes live radio shows, a remote broadcast, and airings of College Radio Day-produced documentaries.

“It’s given me more confidence,” said Operations Management Team member Robbi Moore.

WMCO broadcasts 24/7 with new music, local news, sports, special events, and alternative programming. Starting originally at 91.1 on the dial, WMCO moved to our current 90.7 in 1970. WMCO will celebrate its 60th year on the air in January.

“I’ve gained a lot of personal experience…along with meeting new people,” said WMCO staffer Krissy Hughes.
